Who we are - good question!
- We are often referred to as The Brady Bunch.
- We have a sign above our kitchen sink that reads "Life takes us to unexpected places. Love brings us home".
So, a little about our "home". Joe was married to Libby for 15 years and had three beautiful children - I call them my "bonus babies". Libby passed a few years ago from a rare form of cancer, AdCC (Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma). My long marriage sadly also ended. I was reeling. Joe and I have often thought that we found each other at just the right time. And, that God's hand was in it.
Despite the extraordinary challenges of blending a seven person family, the grief that exists, combining three dogs, 1 cat (don't tell anyone, but I LOVE my step-cat, even though I must design around him!) yes, despite all this, I am the luckiest woman in the world. It is the truth.
Thank you for getting to know us a bit (meet the team here). What does this have to do with you and your home? A lot. You wouldn't invite a stranger into your home to help with major and frankly very personal decisions. It isn't just a sofa or a lamp. Not to me and not to you. These are pieces that make you feel comfortable at home. Home. I'm not sure where you are on the continuum of feathering your nest. Starting. Starting over. Or somewhere in the middle. For our Blended home it is a chaos of Glitter. Leather. Pokemon. False Eyelashes. Pet Hair. Joy. Bickering. Trauma. Love. Exhaustion. Coffee. And, a comfortable sofa.

The Coffee Roaster and Security Detail: Joe is not likely to found in a tuxedo. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and is a LtCol in the USMCR. With 15 years of active service along with additional time in government work, Joe has a strong appreciation for good coffee. Joe has other graduate work and experience that is likely to put to sleep unless you like to hump hills or set up comms.... Ooh rah Joe!
What makes Joe a good coffee roaster is learning by doing. Never giving up. Trial and error. The joy of pursuing excellence. He got started with a very small roaster bought from an infomercial and worked his way up to what we have today. When you come to the shop you can see the equipment your coffee is roasted in. A beautiful thing!
